26-Year-Old Woman Shoots Teen Attacker

A concealed carry holder on Chicago’s South Side shot a teen in self-defense after being stabbed during an argument. Both were taken to hospitals, and charges against the teen are pending.


CHICAGO, IL (2-minute read) — A heated altercation at 31st Street Beach late Saturday night resulted in a 17-year-old girl being shot by a 26-year-old concealed carry holder. The incident occurred around 11:30 p.m. in the 3000 block of South Fort Dearborn Drive, on Chicago’s South Side.

According to police, the confrontation between the two women escalated when the teenager produced a sharp object and stabbed the older woman in the right arm. In response, the 26-year-old, who has both a valid Concealed Carry License (CCL) and Firearm Owner’s Identification (FOID) card, drew her firearm and shot the teen in the left shoulder.

Both individuals were transported to area hospitals; the concealed carry holder was in good condition, while the 17-year-old received treatment and was subsequently released. Pending charges against the teenager are currently under review by law enforcement.
